Uncle Josef's Holiday Camp is a grand musical show that tells of the disturbing events that befall a group of naïve and curious western tourists who decide to holiday in an old Soviet labour camp in the Russian Arctic. Anticipating a fun and educational adventure, the tourists' early enthusiasm quickly ebbs away when they realise they've been duped and must now face an unfamiliar and sinister reality. This is a story of naked ambition, ingenuity, endurance, cruelty & greed, told through a series of original ballads, rooted in the folk traditions of Ukraine, Moldova, Russia and Catford.
